Favorite Children Book

Fox and The Mountain by : Scott and Camber Simson

Fox and The Mountain is my all time favorite children story because it teaches children to believe in themselves. It teaches no matter how high your mountain may seem if you have faith and believe nothing is impossible. We as teachers and parents need to teach our children to be determined and believe in themselves, because nothing worth gaining was ever gained without effort.

  1. Jamill,

I have never heard of this book, but it sounds very inspiring. I am going to write the title and author down so that I can check it out at the library. I definitely agree that teachers and parents need to be supportive of their children's passion and help them achieve their goals. Unfortunately, there are so many children out there that do not have a support system and often give up on their dreams. Giving up should never be an option!

  2. You should! It is very good. You are certainly right, children today are so quick to give up. They don't want to go through anything hard or difficult. Always looking for a simple way through things. I try my best to encourage my children daily, because we never know what life outside school is like and we never know the kind of affect we will make in there lives.

  3. Hi Jamill,
I have not read this book either! I am going to make sure to secure a copy. I agree that we must always encourage children. There were so many times in my own childhood that people encouraged me and I still remember them with fondness. I am sure we all have a favorite teacher that stands out in our mind. My favorite teacher was Mr. Rush. He was my 6th grade teacher and he made a very hard year a lot brighter with his smile and encouraging words.
